Christchurch-Glentui buliding relocation, 2014

“I am writing to thank you for the excellent relocation contract you completed yesterday. Every aspect of your contract was very satisfactory. An accurate and competitive quotation was provided within days of our first contact followed by a site visit that clearly laid out your requirements for access. Within seven days of acceptance I was advised of the date of relocation.

"Despite wet weather and difficult access, the building was uplifted and transported to site on the arranged date and with no damage. I commend y0ur service and professionalism and look forward to using your services again.” — M.J. BUSHNELL, 2014

Kairaki Beach-West Eyreton house move, 2013

"I would like to congratulate you on the superior job that you did moving our house from 'Red Zoned' Kairaki Beach to West Eyreton. Your efforts were above-and-beyond what I expected throughout every aspect, from lifting of the house, manoeuvring it out of the beach, through Kaiapoi, down the motorway, through a ford and to our block of land.

"No part of the move of the house was too hard. The team's can-do, will-do attitude had all my fears put aside and turned into excitement. The level of professionalism and quality exceeded that of other moving companies that I have used for relocation before."— PETER GILL, 2013

Historic 180-tonne house slide, 2012

This house suffered significant foundation damage from Canterbury's September 2010 earthquake. Initial attempts to underpin and strengthen the existing foundation came to a stop when the quake of February 2011 struck. It was decided that deep piling to nine metres was the best option. Smith Building Relocation was contracted to slide the building to one side whilst new foundations were installed, and to slide the building back.

"Jacqui and I would like to thank you and your staff for completing the move of Ironside House off the old foundation then back on to the new piles. Moving a building of upwards of 200 tonnes is no easy task. The project was completed within budget and we appreciated that you were able to preserve the rimu floor, look after the structure and features of the building to enable its reinstatement. We would have no hesitation in recommending your company for projects of this nature.”  — BARRY & JACQUI LEE, H&H DEVELOPMENTS, 2012
